Prerequisite: ICS341 Systems Analysis and Design

Course Description

This course covers both social and technical aspects of IT project management used throughout a project’s lifecyle. Topics include the scope, time, cost and quality management of projects, risk management, project teams and resource management, project procurement, communication and documentation, project scheduling and estimation, evaluation and control.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course the students will be able to:

  • Understand the concepts and principles of software project management
  • Understand the techniques and tools to manage such a project
  • Effectively apply the ideas, techniques and tools to manage software project
  • Understand the planning, resource allocation, scheduling, risk management, monitoring and control of a software project management
  • Have an ability to manage a software project with given constraints and domain
  • Understand the software development standards
